Spain is represented by the village of Alhama de Almería, located on the outskirts of Sierra Nevada, just 8 km from the Alboran Sea in the south. The Mulhacen is the mountain overlooking the village, it reaches 3478 meters in altitude. Since Roman times, part of the village economy revolves around the use of thermal springs: the village therefore benefits from a plentiful supply of natural hot water springs.
The club was established in 1986 and has 235 members. Spain was twice champion of Europe's Mountain Villages in 2008 and 2012, but this is the first time that Alhama de Almeria will represent its country for this competition. Will they bring back a third title? Come watch from June 2, 2016 in Morzine!
